Recent Animation Work for Lycored and EWPA

Some recent animation work for Lycored and EWPA that we're proud of ...

Lycored is a Swiss-based leader in the research and development of all-natural, carotenoid-based wellness and food ingredients products. It is one of the largest manufacturers of natural beta-carotene in the world, with operations in Israel, Ukraine, US and Switzerland.

Lycored asked us to create an animation to help bring three sets of data to life:

  • Findings from a recent study they carried out, which assessed the impact of natural v artificial colors on consumer choice in the confectionery gummies category.
  • Results from an accelerated application test, comparing natural to synthetic colors
  • Results from a technical stability review of Lycored colors for panned confectionery

From this raw data, we devised,  designed and developed the animation below – creating fun fruity characters to add visual appeal and a catchy soundtrack to hold attention. This animation became an important part of the sales collateral, helping them gain share in markets worldwide as the category leader in all-natural food ingredients.

The European Whey Producers Association (EWPA) is an association of Europe’s leading whey producers including Arla, Carbery, Freisland Campina and Glanbia. Its mission is to promote good communication and understanding of Whey and related issues towards potential customers and consumers.

In 2017, the EWPA commissioned the largest consumer insights survey of its kind across 8 countries in Europe. The survey spoke to over 8,000 consumers across a broad demographic who lead active lives and looked to build an accurate picture of their attitudes and behaviours towards exercise, diet and whey protein.

They asked us to help them relate the findings of the research in a way that would be meaningful to a broad range of stakeholders including industry, regulatory and consumers themselves. From the data we pulled a strong story of missed opportunity; while consumers’ overwhelming motivation for exercise was to keep living an active life for longer; they didn’t feel that whey protein was relevant to achieving this. This was critical because whey protein’s role in muscle health maintenance is exactly what they need to enjoy a full and active life. With this story in mind, we produced an animation, a PowerPoint presentation, an infographic and a suite of digital co-branded materials that could be used by the EWPA and their member companies alike. The campaign was launched in 2018 by the EWPA at VitaFoods.
